Brunch in Porto is no longer just a trend — it’s become a proper part of the city’s food scene, with some genuinely great spots, a few that are clearly overrated, and others that still manage to surprise.
In this guide, we’ve rounded up our favourite brunch spots in Porto, based on real visits over time. This isn’t a list built on hype or rankings, but on places where the food, atmosphere, and overall experience are worth it.
Here you’ll find some of the best brunches in Porto, from long-time city favourites to newer openings that actually live up to the expectations.
We had no financial incentives or sponsorships; these are restaurants we like and/or were recommended by our friends living in Porto.
Our Top 3 Brunches in Porto
If we had to choose just three brunch spots in Porto, these would be it.
They’re not necessarily the most hyped or Instagram-famous places. They’re the ones that stood out the most in our experience, for different reasons.
🥇 Zenith Brunch & Cocktails Porto
The most consistent spot in the city.
It’s not the most peaceful or the most original brunch, but it’s one of those places that rarely disappoints. The food is solid, the service is fast, and there’s enough variety on the menu to please almost everyone.
It’s popular, and you feel that in the space, but it remains a safe choice in Porto.
🥈 Rosi. Café & more
The most unique on this list.
The flavors clearly step away from the usual Porto brunch scene, with Eastern European inspiration and dishes you won’t easily find elsewhere.
It may not be the most universally “safe” brunch, but it’s one of the most interesting, especially for its creativity and food quality.
🥉 Camélia Brunch Garden
The nicest overall experience.
The location and atmosphere play a big role here. The garden feel, the outdoor seating, and the slower pace make it perfect for a relaxed brunch with no rush.
The food is good and consistent, but what really earns Camélia a spot in the Top 3 is the overall experience.

10 Best Brunches in Porto
Do Norte Café by Hungry Biker – Relaxing and Delicious Brunch
Do Norte Café is a beautiful restaurant with decor inspired by the Nordic countries of Europe. It is a pleasant place to relax and chat with friends. The restaurant has a small sheltered terrace, and it is pet-friendly. The staff is very friendly and attentive.
They don’t take reservations; however, there were no queues when we went in April, and we could enter immediately. But we can’t guarantee you won’t have to wait during peak season.
The food was delicious, with some original and different dishes. The salmon toast was divine, as was the cheese and spinach pancake. They also offer a brunch menu with several options and various good hot drinks. Our only complaint is that since the food and drinks did not come simultaneously, the food got cold.
Given the excellent quality/price ratio, memorable location, and scrumptious food, it’s one of our favorite brunch spots.

- Price: Good value for money, €10 to €15 per person
- Service: Very good and pleasant atmosphere
- Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Location: Rua do Almada 57/59, 4000-4050-036 Porto
Camélia – Brunch Garden – Our Favorite in the Foz Area
Camélia – Brunch Garden is a beautiful restaurant near Foz with a pleasant view of the Douro River. The idea of the restaurant is to transport us to a garden with decor full of flowers and plants. The restaurant also has a terrace where you can enjoy the sun and the views.
The restaurant doesn’t take reservations and tends to get busy even during the low season, so we recommend going early, between 11 AM and 12 PM. The staff is very friendly and attentive.
They have a good variety of food and drinks. The food is tasty, with different flavors and dishes worldwide. We loved the labneh and the scotch eggs; the pancakes were also very good. They have brunch menus, but they only serve them until 11:30 AM, which is a big disadvantage in our opinion.
It’s a restaurant worth visiting. The food is very good, and the experience is pleasant. However, it is one of the busiest restaurants on the list.

- Price: €10 to €15 per person
- Service: Very good and pleasant atmosphere, beautiful decor. It can be a bit noisy when it’s crowded.
- Hours: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Location: R. do Passeio Alegre 368, 4150-571 Porto
Comfort Cakes – One of the Best Sweet Brunches in Porto
Comfort Cakes Porto is a very cute and beautiful restaurant with decor featuring plush toys and lovely wallpaper. It has a fabulous terrace at the back of the restaurant, with swings and a small house, ideal for children to play. It is also pet-friendly. Additionally, it is a pleasant and refreshing place with trees and vegetation.
One disadvantage is that it only opens at 12 PM, but they do accept reservations, which is great for busier times. They also have a special brunch menu on Sundays with prior reservations.
During the week, you can easily find a place. The staff is very friendly and attentive, providing personalized service.

Comfort Cakes’ strong suit is their cakes – they have many of these lovely, delicious mini cakes. On the downside, they don’t have many savory dishes and no egg dishes. But if you have a sweet tooth, this is the place for you. They also don’t have a variety of juices but a huge variety of teas.
This is a brunch spot for those who love sweets and cakes. It is also ideal for parents who want to relax while their kids play.

- Price: €10 to €15 per person
- Service: Very good, personalized service
- Hours: 12 PM to 7 PM during the week, 11 AM to 6 PM on weekends
- Location: R. de Antero de Quental 260, 4050-052 Porto
Located on Estrada da Circunvalação, inside the Sport Club do Porto facilities, Breathe Brunch & Feel was one of the biggest surprises in this project of finding the best brunch spots in Porto.
The food we tried was delicious, with nothing to point out. The salted caramel pancakes are among our all-time favourites. There are only two, but they’re tall, fluffy, and moist. The caramel and apple combine perfectly, while the ice cream cone adds a fun and refreshing touch.
Another dish we really enjoyed was the eggs Benedict. It’s a very colourful and tasty dish, and the eggs were perfectly cooked with the yolk still runny.
The atmosphere is another strong point of this brunch spot. The terrace overlooking Parque da Cidade makes it perfect for a relaxed late morning or even a slow afternoon.
- Price: €15–€20 per person
- Service: fast and friendly
- Opening hours: 8am–7pm on weekdays, until 5pm on Saturdays, closed on Sundays
- Location: Estr. da Circunvalação 15687, 4100-183 Porto
Negra Café Baixa – Instafriendly Brunch
Negra Café Baixa is a restaurant in the center of Porto, near the Trindade metro station and close to the Silo Auto parking lot. It has a retro style, with 70s and 80s decor, and is very photogenic and insta-friendly. It is quite spacious, with a pleasant terrace at the back.
The restaurant does not accept reservations, but it wasn’t crowded during the low season weekdays. The staff was friendly but sometimes a bit disorganized. The music was also a bit loud, but we are a bit sensitive to that.

The food was tasty but nothing memorable. The brunch options were the classics without any particularly different or creative dishes. We really liked the milkshakes, the scrambled eggs with sweet potato, and the cake of the day was good. Besides being a brunch spot, it also serves lunches.
In summary, the restaurant is very pleasant to be in, but in terms of food, it is not the most creative nor has the boldest flavors. It’s worth visiting, but it’s not our favorite on the list.

- Price: €10 to €15 per person
- Service: Friendly, very beautiful space
- Hours: 9 AM to 7 PM, Sunday 9 AM to 7:30 PM
- Location: R. Guedes de Azevedo 117, 4000-272 Porto
Terrárea – Best Vegetarian Brunch
Terrárea is a beautiful vegetarian café/restaurant that shares space with a flower and decor shop of the same name. Flowers and a very pleasant smell cover the space.
Despite having few tables, the restaurant is spacious and relaxing. It is pet-friendly, and the staff is friendly and attentive. They do not accept reservations, but when we went there on a weekday, there were still many places, although it started to fill up at 1 p.m.
The food is very good, tasty, and well-seasoned, and all options are vegetarian. The eggs were perfectly cooked. We loved the poached eggs on labneh and the lemon curd pancake. They don’t have a wide variety of hot drinks, but they have a variety of juices and teas. They do not have brunch menus with several items included, but they have lunch options and a soup of the day.
This is one of our favorite brunch restaurants. Besides the great food, the space is very pleasant. It’s not located in downtown Porto, but in Matosinhos, so it’s not as convenient for those without a car.

- Price: €10 to €15 per person
- Service: Friendly, beautiful space
- Hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Closed on Mondays
- Location: Rua de Brito Capelo 1211, 4450-078 Matosinhos
Zenith, Brunch & Cocktails Bar – Popular and Tasty Porto Brunch
Zenith is probably the most famous restaurant on this list, making it extremely popular. Since they don’t take reservations, there’s often a wait. We visited on a weekday at 11:00 AM and didn’t have to wait for a table, which was great. Zenith is so popular that it has opened locations in Lisbon, Madrid, and Barcelona.
The restaurant features modern, industrial-style decor. It is a relatively large space with outdoor seating, but it can become a bit noisy and chaotic due to high demand. The staff is very friendly and attentive, but there are too many employees. While this makes the service quick, the experience can feel rushed and not very relaxing. It feels more like a place to eat and leave rather than to stay and enjoy.
The best thing about this restaurant is the exceptional food. Both the eggs and pancakes were delicious. They offer a variety of dishes with different and original options. There aren’t many sweet options or a brunch menu with multiple included items.
We had the shakshuka and Zenith’s savory pancake, both of which were excellent. The drinks were good but not exceptional. They offer cocktails, and the space also functions as a bar later in the day and evening.
Overall, we loved the food at Zenith, but it’s not the best place to chat with friends in a relaxed way.

- Price: €10 to €15 per person
- Service: Friendly and attentive
- Hours: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Location: Praça de Carlos Alberto 86, 4050-158 Porto
Lazy Breakfast Club – Affordable Porto Brunch
The Lazy Breakfast Club is a brunch restaurant in downtown Porto, across from the Selina hostel. It has modern decor, a very youthful vibe, and a relaxed atmosphere. The space is small, with shared tables. They don’t take reservations, and the staff is friendly.
The Lazy Breakfast Club offers several brunch menus with a selection of various breakfast dishes, such as eggs, bacon, toast, croissants, and pancakes. In fact, there’s so much food that one brunch menu can serve two people.
The food was tasty but not outstanding, with no dishes that stood out at brunch. There was nothing truly different or special. It’s a good place for a filling breakfast, but not memorable. We’d say it’s more a place for a big breakfast than a true brunch that replaces lunch.
The big advantage of this restaurant is that if you share a brunch menu, the meal is affordable, making it the cheapest restaurant on the list. The very young and relaxed atmosphere also sets it apart from other restaurants in this article.

- Price: €10 per person if sharing a brunch menu
- Service: Friendly and attentive
- Hours: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Location: R. Das Oliveiras 110, 4050-449 Porto
Eleven Lab Concept – Brunch with a Beautiful View
Eleven Lab is a restaurant with a spectacular view of the Douro River. It has simple decor and a small space but a pleasant terrace. They accept reservations during the week. However, in the off-season, it doesn’t get too crowded. The staff is very friendly and attentive.
The food was tasty but not very memorable. Classic dishes like scrambled eggs and pancakes lacked a varied brunch menu. The options for drinks and smoothies were limited, although the edible straws added an interesting touch.
The food itself is not remarkable. It seems to have more lunch options than brunch options, and it doesn’t have a brunch menu with multiple included dishes.
What we like the most about Eleven Lab Concept is the location and the fabulous terrace overlooking the River Douro.
- Price: €10 to €15 per person
- Service: Attentive and friendly staff, good location
- Hours: 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM
- Location: R. do Ouro 418, 4150-553 Porto
Rosi Café and More
O Rosi. Café & more is one of our favorite brunch spots, primarily because of the exceptional quality of the food. The flavors are intense, the dishes are delicious, and the creative combinations work magnificently.
This restaurant has Ukrainian origins and offers different flavors for our palate. The Syrniki, a type of pancake filled with cheese, is irresistible and one of our favorite brunch dishes in Porto. The pancakes are as eye-catching as they are tasty. Finally, the eggs are excellent, though they tend to be overshadowed by the other dishes.

The décor is simple, and there is a pleasant terrace at the back, though the space is a bit small. It’s not noisy with loud music, making it a great place to chat or relax. It’s also pet-friendly.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our only critique is that they had some difficulties speaking Portuguese, and the menu had a few translation errors. Other than that, it’s one of the best brunch restaurants in Porto, shining especially in terms of food quality and creativity, which we find most important.
Please note that they do not accept reservations, and it can get crowded on weekends.

- Price: €15 to €20 per person
- Service: Attentive and friendly staff, but some difficulty speaking Portuguese
- Hours: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Location: Rua do Rosário, 4050-370 Porto
Diplomata – Permanently closed
Diplomata has permanently closed, but we’re keeping our review here since, for years, it was one of the best brunch spots in Porto and in Portugal.
Located in central Porto, near Aliados, it was a very popular and well-known spot. The decor was simple and pleasant, but the space was small and would fill up quickly. On weekdays, reservations were possible, but at weekends it worked on a walk-in basis. The service was friendly and attentive.

The real highlight at Diplomata was clearly the pancakes. For us, they were the best on this list. The blueberry pancakes with spiced biscuit were especially memorable. They might look a bit dry in photos, but they were anything but, and you could also customise them with different toppings.
Overall, the food was good but not particularly innovative. There was a decent selection of hot drinks. The scrambled eggs with mushrooms felt a bit dry and lacked flavour, and the drinks were served lukewarm.

A less positive point was the lack of attention to some details at the time of our visit, such as the toilet doors not closing properly. Another thing to keep in mind is that they did not accept card payments.
- Price: €10–€15 per person
- Service: friendly and attentive, but the space is quite small
- Working hours: Closed Permanently
- Location: R. de José Falcão 32, 4050-198 Porto
